James Spooner, author of “It Starts With Anger: A Punk Beginning. An Afropunk Ending.” discusses of identity, punk ethos and more!

It Starts with Anger follows author, filmmaker and illustrator James Spooner’s coming of age in NYC as a Black punk in an overwhelming white scene. When his documentary Afro-Punk sparks massive success, his punk ethos are challenged by corporate interests.

Joining the author will be Dan Ozzi, author of Sellout: The Major-Label Feeding Frenzy That Swept Punk, Emo, and Hardcore for an in-person discussion, book sales and signing.

This event will take place in the Art Department, located on Level 2. Reservations are not required but are encouraged. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
