Douglas Messerli will sign and speak about his new book “My Queer Cinema,” an encyclopedic work with hundreds of titillating stills that reveals how cinema has always relied on queer imagery to add excitement and to show what it might pretend doesn’t exist. The first volume discusses 180 films, and begins with an examination of the first on-screen kiss, which was between two nude women in 1887.
In-store event at Book Soup, 8818 Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA 90069.
