A Seat with the Author is a new, intimate author series presented by Hermosa Beach Friends of the Library (HBFoL) in partnership with Made By Inch.

For our first event of 2026, cozy up on Made By Inch’s couches for a relaxed, conversation-style evening with Lauren Okie, author of The Best Worst Thing. Stephanie Pao (The Fleuria) will moderate a warm, behind-the-scenes discussion about Lauren’s writing life and the story behind the book, followed by audience Q&A.

Whether you’re already a fan or just discovering her work, this is a welcoming, in-person night to connect, get inspired, and enjoy great conversation…right from the couch!
