Book Talk! YOU ARE NOT ALONE by Dr. Ken Duckworth
December 1 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
ABOUT THE BOOK:
You Are Not Alone is the first and only book fully supported by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the largest US grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. It is an authoritative, essential guide offering information and guidance on dealing with mental health conditions and navigating care; evidence about what works based on up-to-date scientific research; insight and advice from renowned clinical experts and practitioners; and relatable, first-person stories that articulate what the facts do not. The book’s emphasis on the lived experiences of those with mental illness is in line with NAMI’s work; in their advocacy efforts, NAMI uplifts the stories of its members as well as NAMI’s celebrity ambassadors, who count among their ranks Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez,Taraji P. Henson, Mayim Bialik, Maria Bamford, and Corinne Foxx.
