From the author of New York Times bestseller The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek (530,000 copies sold) comes a delightful return to the librarians and blue people of Kentucky, telling the story of Honey Lovett, the daughter of Cussy Mary and Jackson, who finds herself back in Troublesome Creek, where she takes on a library route, befriending a coal miner and a fire lookout, together three women who must find strength in their friendships and the power of books in order to overcome prejudice, isolation, and the unforgiving Appalachian landscape.

ASHLEY BLOOMS is the author of Where I Can’t Follow, which was named a Most Anticipated novel by Good Housekeeping, Gizmodo, Den of Geek,, and more. Her debut novel, Every Bone a Prayer, was long-listed for the Crook’s Corner Book Prize and received praised from NPR, BuzzFeed, Good Housekeeping, POPSUGAR, Bustle, and others.

Ruby Friedman is a singer, songwriter, producer, and arranger. Her new neo-roots composition “The Book Woman’s Daughter” appears in the video trailer for award-winning, bestselling writer Kim Michele Richardson’s like-titled novel about life in rural Appalachia, to be published by Sourcebooks Landmark on May 3.

The Book Woman’s Daughter is a companion to Richard’s previous fact-based work The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek, which spent 14 weeks on the New York Times’ fiction bestseller list in 2018; that volume was also promoted by a video trailer featuring a song composed by the writer, who is long-standing and ardent fan of Los Angeles-bred, Portland, Oregon-based musician’s work.
