A Celebration of Ravens and Crows, Life, Death, and Family

Please join us for a reading celebrating the publication of two new books—Laraine Herring’s A Constellation of Ghosts: A Speculative Memoir with Ravens and Jim Natal’s poetry chapbook Étude in the Form of a Crow.

About the authors:
Laraine Herring, founder of Fierce Monkey Book Coaching, is a writer, professor, and grief therapist. Her newest book, A Constellation of Ghosts: A Speculative Memoir with Ravens was released from Regal House in October. Her other books include Writing Begins with the Breath; The Writing Warrior; On Being Stuck: Tapping into the Creative Power of Writer’s Block; Lost Fathers: How Women Can Heal From Adolescent Father Loss; and the novels Ghost Swamp Blues and Into the Garden of Gethsemane, Georgia. Her work has also appeared in The New York Times, The Rumpus, and Catapult, and has been widely anthologized. She won the Barbara Deming Award for Women for her fiction, and her nonfiction has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
Jim Natal is the author of five books of poems: Memory and Rain, Talking Back to the Rocks, and In the Bee Trees, as well as two collections written in contemporary haibun form, 52 Views: The Haibun Variations and Spare Room. His most recent poetry collection is the chapbook Étude in the Form of a Crow. A multi-year Pushcart Prize nominee, literary presenter, and co-founder of indie publishing house Conflux Press, his work has appeared in many journals and anthologies.
